Stone Soup Weekly Saturday Meal

Saturday, September 25, 2021, 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm
399 Main Street, Greenfield, MA - Red Door on Hope Street

Join us for lunch this Saturday to celebrate Sukkot.

Sukkot is a weeklong Jewish holiday that comes five days after Yom Kippur. Sukkot celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the miraculous protection provided for Jewish people when they left Egypt. Some Jewish folks celebrate Sukkot by spending time in a foliage-covered booth (known as a sukkah), reminiscent of the temporary shelters built in the desert. The goal is to spend as much time as possible and try to eat all meals in the sukkah. Sukkot is a festival for giving thanks for many things, including food and shelter.
